Hold your breath
And take a peek
You’ve never seen
A girl this sweet

Long eyelashes
Perfect lips
Feel how strong
Her fingers grip!

Eyes squeezed tight
A baby sigh
Mommy whispers
A lullaby

Daddy tweaks 
A tiny curl
In silent pride
His little girl

Not a whimper
Good as gold
In loving arms
That ached to hold

Months of waiting
Now she’s here
They share a smile
And then a prayer
